Baja Angels of the Sea is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting orphanages, women's shelters, and vulnerable families across Baja California. MJK built their website from the ground up to give the organization a real digital home, one that could tell their story, accept donations, and connect volunteers and donors to the work happening on the ground.
The site needed to do a lot at once: showcase multiple ongoing programs, integrate a live social feed, support a donor dashboard, and stay accessible to a wide range of visitors, all while keeping the tone warm and human rather than corporate.
As a fully volunteer-run nonprofit, Baja Angels of the Sea needed a website that could operate like a full-time program coordinator, communicating their mission, tracking multiple community programs, and making it simple for donors and volunteers to get involved, all without dedicated in-house staff to manage it.
Structured the site around clear program categories (Children's Education, Core Mission Support, Women's Shelter, Sports & Development) so visitors and donors could quickly find and support the specific cause they cared about.
Integrated a donor dashboard, a live Facebook feed to keep the site connected to real-time updates, and multilingual and accessibility tools to make the site usable for as wide an audience as possible.
Built a structure for ongoing impact stories and news updates, letting the organization publish real stories from the field, like scholarship wins and family support stories, in a consistent, easy-to-scan format.
Every project starts with understanding the problem, not just the design. I focus on clarity, structure, and performance from day one so what we build doesn’t just look good, it works.
Understanding the mission, audience, and technical requirements before any design begins.
Defining program structure and content hierarchy to support clarity and donor conversion.
Building a warm, accessible WordPress site with a donor dashboard and social integration.
Testing performance, refining details, and ensuring long-term maintainability.
Since launch, Baja Angels of the Sea has had a central hub to share their mission, connect with donors, and highlight ongoing programs across Baja California.
Whether you’re launching something new or evolving an established brand, I’d love to hear what you’re building.
